I paint every day — it’s something I can’t not do.
There’s a quiet compulsion behind it. I spend a lot of time simply noticing — the way light hits a wall, the colour of a shadow, the shape of silence in an empty chair. I’ve never lost that childlike awe for fleeting beauty, and painting is my way of holding onto it just a little longer.
Though I often paint flowers, I’ve started exploring more of the world around them — the interiors they live in, the objects we leave behind, the spaces that speak even when no one is there. For me, it’s about creating pockets of stillness. In a world that feels noisy, fast, and fractured, choosing softness, quiet, and the handmade feels like a radical act.
I have a young daughter. Like many parents, I carry unspoken anxieties about the future. These paintings are a way of pushing back — of manifesting tenderness, grace, and peace in whatever small way I can.
